Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

This is suppose to be a knock off of Nothing Bundt Cakes chocolate chip bundt cake-- I'm not so convinced-- but it IS a really good bundt cake. I'll keep working on it for you, and let you know when I come up with the grand prize winner! The cream cheese icing from this recipe I didn't really like, so next time I'll substitute my own. Here is my cream cheese icing recipe!

Cake Ingredients:
1 box devils food cake, cake mix
1 small box chocolate pudding
1 cup sour cream
4 large eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix everything except mini chocolate chips in mixer fitted with paddle attachment. By hand stir in mini chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased bundt cake pan (cooking spray works best, and a lot of it!) Cook in oven at 350 for 40 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool for 20 minutes before trying to remove from pan. Cool cake completely before icing.

Frosting Ingredients:
8 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
In a mixer fitted with whisk attachment, cream together cream cheese and butter. Slowly stir in powdered sugar until mixture is smooth and thickened. Finish by stirring in the vanilla. Decorate as desired.

  1. I have this exact recipe and I love it. But the one thing I do differently (and I love it) is to grease and SUGAR the pan. It makes a yummy, crunchy coating. I also think this recipe is better the next day when the choco chips have had a chance to harden. YUM
